America was founded by men who prayed, expecting God’s guidance as they wrote the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. Some of them were truly Christians, so God answered their prayers. It has since been commonly known that America was built on Judeo/Christian principles. Its government was set up for governing a righteous people.
So, the early years of this ‘great experiment’ displayed God’s hand on the nation. America quickly raced ahead of every other nation that had been around for thousands of years. The ingenuity and creativity or her people caused this ‘New World’ to leap ahead in every aspect of society. The incredible miracles of science, construction, commerce, infrastructure, engineering, transportation etc had the rest of the world in awe of this fledgling nation.
The government of France sent one of the country’s well-known philosophers/historians to America to find out why America was so great. Alex de Tocqueville spent several months crossing the North American continent seeking an answer to this great question of the times. After looking in all the ‘normal’ places one would expect to find such an answer, someone suggested he attend some churches. It was not long before Alex had found his answer. He returned to France with this report”
America is great because Americans are good, and if Americans ever cease to be good, America will cease to be great.
At the time of Alex’s search, the Holiness Movement was affecting society with a strong, positive influence. Alex described the pulpits as being ‘aflame with righteousness.’ The preachers of the day believed that one could NOT be Christian if one sinned. The words ‘Christian’ and ‘saint’ were synonymous. Most of the bible deals with this truth. In fact, the theme throughout the whole book is: Obey God and live, or disobey Him and die.’ Jesus confirmed that when He came on the scene. He assures us that it’s not those who call Him Lord who go to heaven, but only those who ’do the will of His Father.’ Mat. 7:21 Sin is clearly NOT included in God’s will.
Today’s preachers assure us that all those who ‘believe in Jesus’ are righteous. But God’s word does NOT teach that. There is one place where it sounds like Jesus shares His righteousness with all those who ‘believe’ in Him. But when we look at the Greek word from which ‘believe’ comes from, we find that it has a far deeper meaning than mental assent. It means: believe, trust, have faith in, with the implication that actions based on that belief, faith, and trust will follow. Everywhere else, God makes it abundantly clear that He sees only those who ‘do what is right’ as righteous. Imagine that? But that’s typical of God’s life instruction manual. It all makes perfect sense and is logical.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous 1 Jn 3:7
For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. Rom. 2:13
Is there anything logical or substantive when it comes to transforming a life from sinner to saint in, ‘come to Jesus,’ or ‘find Jesus,’ or ‘have faith in Jesus,’ or ‘trust Jesus,’ or ‘accept Jesus as Lord and Savior?’ There is zero substance in any of those little ‘niceties.’ They are all semantics which demand a life of difficulty ‘proving that you have been born again or made anew etc.’ The desire of preachers today is to increase the numbers of their flock more than to lead sinners to a place where they are saints. In fact, every preacher I spoke to about the issue assured me that no human-being can live sin-free. We all sin, We all ‘have our demons,‘ preachers and all.
I could include here many scriptures that clearly inform us that nobody who sins gets to heaven. Let me give you a couple.
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who have sex with men, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers or swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.
So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Jn. 8:34-36
Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Rom. 6:16-18
How any sane person can argue with or pretend that these scriptures mean something other than what they say is beyond this old boy. These scriptures all follow the teaching of the whole bible. I know that some of you will point straight to Romans seven where Paul put himself in the sandals of a Jew before Christ, and explained how that would have been. If you believe, as many pastors and preachers do, that Romans seven is a testimony of Paul’s life in Christ, then you simply must get rid of the rest of Paul’s teaching. Paul actually proved it was not his testimony in the very first two verses of chapter eight where he assures us that: ‘there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because the law of the Spirit has set me free from the law of sin and death.’ If you believe what Paul wrote in chapters 6 and 8 of Romans, you simply CANNOT believe Paul was giving his testimony of life in Christ in seven,
Therefore, I urge you to imitate me. For this reason, I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.1 Cor. 4:16-17
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.1 Cor. 11:1
In verse nine Paul tells us that he was alive when Moses went up the mountain to get the commandments [if you believe this is Paul’s personal testimony]. That is obviously not true, so you HAVE TO find some explanation of how Paul could write this chapter.
He was simply using hyperbole to make a very necessary point about the vast difference of living before Christ and in Christ.
What good is any religion that ignores the basic need for that religion: the sin problem? Before the civil war, church going men and women were living lives that were holy, free from sin. But when this terrible war broke out, men were conscripted from North and South to fight this war. With a rifle in their hands, they either had to kill or be killed. Christians were well aware that this was NOT right in God’s eyes, but what option did they have? Obviously, not a very healthy one. So, they had to do wrong for the sake of their ‘survival’ or ‘patriotic duty.’ I can well imagine how they must have fought that battle far more seriously than the battle between North and South. But, like I said, it was a matter of life or death, and they were of zero use to God, dead. So, Satan won the greatest battle of that time.
He has been continuing this battle ever since. Due to the common understanding that godliness was very good for the society, church folks tried to live lives that were pleasing to God after that war, but preachers were enticed into believing numbers were of greater importance than purity or holiness, and Christianity fizzled out. Just as there is no such thing as a free lunch, so there is no such thing as free salvation. True, salvation sets you free, but salvation is NOT free. It cost God enormously, and Jesus assured us that we cannot be His disciple if we don’t give up everything we have. Lk 14:33. His sermons were often: Deny yourselves, take up your crosses daily, and come follow me. These sermons and the truth about being His disciple obviously include great cost to us, personally.
When we study God’s inerrant word, we find \scattered all through the text,’ little nuggets of great wealth. One of these is the demand of God to know Him, and another is to fear Him. Obviously, we could not learn to fear Him without first coming to know Him. There are many passages that relate to the absolute necessity of both knowing and fearing God. One that comes to mind is Jer. 29:11-14. This passage is rarely quoted in its whole. People love to inform us that God has a plan and purpose for us…to bless us and do us no harm. That tickles one’s ears, right? But sadly, the message God was giving us does not finish with that nice-sounding truth. This ‘nice, friendly, benefit’ for each of us is only true for those who search for God with all their hearts. Let me give you the whole message.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
So, as for every other promise of God, this one comes with a condition. Clearly these Jews who had been banished from their homeland to many different nations because of their disobedience, were told that God’s purpose for them could be valid if they got to know Him.
The apostle Paul knew that ‘knowing God’ is essential for salvation.
He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. 2 Thes. 1:8-9
Jesus also knew this:
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. Jn. 17:3
David and his son, Solomon were aware of another essential facet of salvation. We find in their writings that fearing God is what allows us to repent and cease sinning, and it brings us life, and the availability of God’s counsel. Here are a few of such passages.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. Ps. 33:18-19
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.
The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. Ps. 25:12-14
Through the fear of the LORD evil is avoided. Prov. 16:6
Humility and the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life. Prov. 22:4
The fear of the LORD leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble. Prov. 19:23
And the first prophet knew this as well.
Moses said to the people, do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of the Lord will be with you to keep you from sinning. Ex. 20:20
When God speaks of life, He is referring to abundant life. That LIFE that is found in His Son Jesus Christ where there is NO sin and NO darkness. It is available to those who fear God. John describes that life in his first letter:
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
No one who lives in him sins. No one who sins has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
No one who is born of God will sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot sin because they have been born of God.
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.1 Jn. 3:4-10
I have used the NIV for this passage, but left out the words that were added by man. In the translations for every ‘modern version’ of God’s word that I have read, man added words like ‘continues to’ or keeps on’ or ‘practice.’ This has given false preachers and teachers the opportunity to suggest that a Christian can sin, as long as it is not addictive or, something they do continuously. The KJV gets it right. That was before man thought it was impossible to live free from sin.
I pray that each of you who reads this will understand that America is under a Satanic attack with his woke cult, and realise that the only way to beat him is to start believing God’s word and embracing the truth found therein. Once there is a large percentage of the population living righteous lives, Satan will be overpowered by God’s power displayed in the lives of His children. The essential need for a massive spiritual awakening and reformation of the church, to become the Church [the resurrected Body of Christ] must be recognized and embraced. Today’s preachers and pew-warmers are so used to sin in society, and in their own lives, that this woke cult has not really got them questioning how this can be, in a ‘Christian country’ like America. They see it as a political matter rather than a spiritual one. I hear them on TV and see them on Twitter repeating their old favourite phrases and requesting prayer etc. God does not hear prayers from sinners. God has assured us of that several times in His word. Here is just one of them:
He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah/America to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them thumbing their noses at me.
Therefore, I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.” Ezek. 8:17-18
I saw this Satanic, woke, cult coming when I lived in the USA for two decades, and wrote a book in 2013 on my return to New Zealand. I strongly encourage you to get a copy and read it with a hungry heart and open mind. It explains clearly what must happen to kick old hairy legs’ butt back to hell where he belongs.
