SCARED OF GOD?
Obviously, most people would be aghast at such a question, right? Not so fast!! Jesus Christ, who was sent to this planet by His Farther, God, gave us the following teaching:
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 10:28
Clearly, Jesus was not talking about holding God in some sort of reverential awe here. It was truly that we ought to be afraid [scared] of God, because He holds our eternal destiny in His hands. Let’s check this out in the normal/natural realm of things. What makes someone act within the law today? Actually, in today’s environment of society this is probably not the best way to show you something. But let’s say, a decade ago, what would keep somebody from doing a criminal act? In most cases it would be the fear of being caught and having to meet the consequences of that act, which would be a penalty handed down by a judge. We all know, sadly, that such is not the case today.
However, the laws in this country were actually established with that in mind. [only good for a moral and religious people…John Adams] So were the laws God put in place, dear reader. The very first humans to have ever existed on this planet were given a commandment, along with a description of the consequences if they disobeyed that commandment. The consequence was death! And they did actually ‘die,’ in the most consequential manner in which they could. The spirit God had given them when He created them in His image, along with their body and soul, was removed from them. It was the spirit which gave them the ability to be in relationship with a spiritual, holy God. Mankind cannot relate to, communicate with. or worship a holy God in the absence of spirit.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Jn. 4:24
Since God created Adam & Eve, no human being was ever created in the image of God: being a triune being….body, soul and spirit. Rom. 5:12-21 We have each simply been formed in our mothers’ wombs. We were each born, sinners, as a result of the inheritance from Adam. So, we could not communicate with, be in relationship with, or worship God, until we repented and received the Holy Spirit for forgiveness of sins.
Peter replied, “Repent & be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
Now we all know that God wrote ten commandments on a stone tablet at the top of Mount Sinai a few thousand years ago. Please understand that these were NOT ten suggestions, but ten commandments. He made it extremely clear as to the result of His people disobeying these commandments. They would be cursed. In fact, many of them were killed, or died from plagues, or poisonous snakes. God does not hide the fact that He is a God of justice. He administers that justice firmly and fairly. God has a very unique quality that is not one that any human being has ever enjoyed or experienced. That is, He never changes.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Js. 1:17
He assures us that there are eternal consequences for doing anything that is outside His perfect will. Such a thing has been given the name, sin. Under the Old Covenant, God’s people had to sacrifice a spotless animal as a sin offering to be forgiven. When Jesus died on the cross at Calvary, He cancelled the Old Covenant, [The Mosaic Law] Col. 2:14 and issued in the New Covenant, which allows both Jews and Gentiles to become God’s children by repenting of their sins and receiving the Holy Spirit. At the time of true repentance, one becomes a triune being again, with the ability of having a relationship with, communicating with, and worshiping a holy God, through the Spirit.
However, this miraculous transformation from sinner to saint does not happen just because a sinner ‘believes in,’ or ‘comes to,’ or’ trusts,’ or ‘has faith in,’ or ‘accepts Jesus as Savior and Lord.’ All of that is nothing but semantics or fool’s talk. Only fools ‘come to’ or ‘have faith in,’ or ‘trust’ someone they don’t know really well. There is NEVER mention of the need to know God or Jesus at any evangelistic rally today. And very sadly, the truth about God is NEVER told either. Here are some truths in the bible God gave us that ‘Christians’ of today would be offended greatly by.
For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.
The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;
you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, LORD, detest. Ps. 5:4-6
How can y’all unashamedly confess to being sinners, when God has told you this? Please understand that sin is always wickedness and evil. And, yes, God can hate sinners/wicked people at the same time as He makes an action with His will to choose for their highest good, which is agape love. That love is not emotional love, but active love. BIG difference. His hatred for evil, wicked sinners is emotional. He displayed His ‘agape’ when He sent Jesus Christ to cancel the Old Covenant, and set us all free from the need to find some spotless animal, and take it to a temple, and sacrifice it for forgiveness of our sins.
I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Ps. 36:1
God is assuring us here that anyone who sins is NOT a child of His, because they clearly do not fear Him.
Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Ps. 2:11
Moses said to the people, do not be afraid: God has come to test you so that the fear of God will be with you to stop you from sinning. Ex. 20:20
Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. Prov. 1:29-30
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. Prov. 3:7
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Prov. 8:13
Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord. Prov. 28:14
Through the fear of the LORD evil is avoided. Prov. 16:6
Humility and the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life. Prov. 22:4
The fear of the LORD leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble. Prov. 19:23
The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. Prov. 15:33
Whoever fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a person from sin. Prov. 14:26-27
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Prov. 23:17-18
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. Ps. 25:12-14
This makes it clear that ‘sinning Christians’ are wasting their time asking God to show them His will. He never hears any of their prayers.
If I had been aware of sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; Ps. 66:18
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable Prov. 28:9
We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will. Jn. 9:31
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10
It is extremely obvious that sinners must realise God hates them, and promises destruction for them. None of them will ever inherit eternal life or experience that abundant life He promises for His kids on this planet. Paul told the recipients of his letter to the Philippians that they were to ‘work out their salvation with fear and trembling.’ Phil. 2:12 The above passages give us a great insight into what Paul was on about huh? So, to fear God, one must get to know Him, right? Who in their right mind would be afraid of some unknown creature or entity. So, the process of salvation according to God is as follows:
How to work out one’s salvation with fear & trembling:
Know God, Jer. 29:11-14, Jn. 17:3, 2 Thes. 1:8-9
Fear God. Acts 10:34-35, Prov, 28:14, Matt. 10:28
Repent. Ex. 20:20, Ezek. 33:11-20
Receive the Holy Spirit for forgiveness of sins. Acts 2:38
Live in Christ where there’s NO SIN. 1 Jn. 3:4-10 KJV
The Holy Spirit will control every aspect of your life, Ezek. 36:26-27
Please take the time to look those scriptures up in a bible and seriously meditate on them. They hold the key to your eternal destiny, dear reader. The 1 Jn, 3:4-10 reference needs to be read in the KJV because I am not aware of any other version of scripture that has the correct translation from Greek to English. They all have words added by the men who compiled the modern versions which change the meaning in a way that they can excuse their sin. God did NOT do such a thing when He inspired His servants to write His truth originally.
The wisest man to have ever loved apart from Jesus was Solomon, who summed up all his amazing teaching with these words:
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecc. 12:13-14
I researched ‘Christianity’ across America from 1992 to 2011, and it broke my heart. I wrote a book soon after, with the reason why Satan has taken control of America now, and how God can kick his scaly butt back to the pit where he belongs. Amazon or B & N have ‘A Nation Broken.’ Get your copy today and see how you can be a part of God’s plan.
