AMERICA’S LAST CHANCE
There was a time in history when America was respected, admired, and held in awe by the rest of the world. In 1831 the government of France sent a well-known, respected historian and philosopher to the USA to find out how this fledgling nation had raced ahead of all others in almost every aspect of life. His name was Alexis de Tocqueville. After spending much time examining our young national government, our schools, and centers of commerce, he was still not ready to return to his country with an answer. Then somebody suggested he attend some church services. Alexis had an open mind, and rather than ignore this suggestion he did attend some churches. Then he returned to France with this report:
America is great because Americans are good, and if Americans ever cease to be good, America will cease to be great.
Alexis described what he saw as ‘pulpits aflame with righteousness.’ At this time there was a spiritual movement going on that has been adequately named The Holiness Movement. Preachers actually believed God’s inerrant word. They had got to know God and learned to fear Him. Fearing God enables one to repent [stop sinning].
Moses said to the people, do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of the Lord will be with you to keep you from sinning. Ex. 20:20
Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. Acts 10:34-35
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Mat. 10:28
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers. Acts 9:31
Humility and the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life. Prov. 22:4
The fear of the LORD leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble. Prov. 19:23
I have attempted to teach others the absolute necessity of fearing God, and some, even pastors, have rebuked me, and suggested that such a thing is ridiculous. I don’t mind telling you I find that frustrating. The same as I find the refusal of every preacher and pew-warmer I have spoken to, able to believe human beings can live free from sin. God’s inerrant word clearly teaches these truths but ‘Christianity’ of today rejects them entirely, and expects God to cut them some slack for that. That’s not just frustrating for me but incredibly grievous. Knowing that these folks are all heading for eternity in hell where the worst torture for them will not be flames, but the insistent memory of the time they were told the truth and refused to accept it. Imagine spending eternity like that.
I am sure the scriptures above have shown you that fearing God is awfully important. In fact, God tells us that it leads to life, and you have to understand that that means abundant life on this earth, and eternal life in heaven. When God speaks of life and death, He is referring to heaven and hell. Spiritually dead folks go to hell, and those who have been given the Holy Spirit go to heaven. Simple and logical, like the rest of God’s message. To be given the Holy Spirit one must repent, because God cannot live with a sinner.
For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people cannot dwell. Ps. 5:4
The preachers all around this planet have been preaching a false gospel ever since the civil war. They assure you that if you believe in, or trust, or have faith in Jesus, or even accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you will be ‘saved:’ born again: redeemed: made righteous: justified, etc. I faithfully followed all of those instructions and tried harder than anyone, I am sure, to live a Christian life. I learned all the right words to use and how to act in church to show how real my worship of God was. I was highly respected by my church peers and pastors, being given leadership positions in most churches I attended for many years. [moved a lot] I preached sermons, led home groups, was youth pastor, and eventually even ordained. During all of this time, I despised myself due to hypocrisy. I was addicted to sexual lust, and as hard as I fought that, and cried out to God to set me free, I could not conquer this wicked addiction. I remember asking an elder at one church for counsel regarding this sin and he told me I was being too hard on myself. Some time later, I was at a beach and saw him arrive and wonder around where most of the young ladies were topless on the beach. He was getting a real eyeful, I tell you. It takes one to know one huh? A pastor I talked to about my addiction told me that I must stop it because I was robbing my wife of her sexual needs. How he came to such a conclusion I will never know. But I came away from these events with a strong suspicion that my church leaders were having similar problems but did not see them as such a great problem as I did. I was on my own, to deal with this sin.
I seriously studied several versions of the bible, attempting to find some freedom from my addiction. I know I spent hundreds of hours deep into my study, and it could have been thousands. I was super desirous of freedom. I learned a lot about what was in the bible, but I did not gain freedom. Then one day I suddenly thought, my motive for all this study was totally selfish. I wanted so badly to feel good about myself. I hated hating myself. I decided to alter my motive to God’s perspective. He desires greatly that I please Him. In fact, He demands that of His children. So, my search now became, how can I live a life that is pleasing to God who I professed to love. What did I need to do to experience such a life? I began at Genesis one, and studied several versions again, seriously desiring a life that God was able to look at me and say, “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.” I got to know God, and learned to fear Him. After all, Jesus commanded me to do that, and eternal life is dependent on knowing God.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. Jn. 17:3
When I realized that God’s justice is absolute, I knew that sin sends one to hell. The wage of sin is death. My addiction was a one-way ticket to hell, regardless of my status in my church, and that scared the pants off me. I was able to do, truly, what I had sworn to God hundreds of times in the past: repent. God removed that wicked burden from my life, and gave His Spirit to me, so I could know and experience the true and amazing joy of His salvation, and the victory that was mine in Christ Jesus. I cannot find words that describe that transformation. God gave us what is the best description for my new life in Isaiah 40:31. I now soar on the air currents like an eagle!
All of this is clearly promised to children of God through His inerrant word. He did not hide it away, or make it difficult to understand. Let me leave you with several scriptures that show you God’s true message of salvation.
He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. 2 Thes. 1:8-9
For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the sinful man, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
The sinful mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
You, however, are not controlled by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you Rom. 8:3-9
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.
Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person
But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.1 Jn. 2:3-6
Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 2 Tim. 2:19
"I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right." Acts. 10:34-35
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chron. 7:14
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, Acts 2:38Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Heb. 12:14
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Pet. 1:15-16
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Mat. 5:48
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thes. 5:23
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Rom. 12:1-2
He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of America to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them thumbing their noses at me.
Therefore, I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.” Ezek. 8:17-18
If I had been aware of sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; Ps. 66:18
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable Prov. 28:9
We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will. Jn. 9:31
When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my face from you. Even if you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood! Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Is. 1:15-16
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Gen. 4:7
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous 1 Jn 3:7
For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. Rom. 2:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor. 10:13
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
No one who lives in him sins. No one who sins has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
No one who is born of God will sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot sin because they have been born of God.
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.1 Jn. 3:4-10
Please note that the original Greek gave us 1 Jn. 3:4-10 as I have done so. The KJV still has it correct, albeit in ancient English. Man added words like ‘continues to’ or ‘keeps on,’ or ‘practice,’ which has given preachers an opportunity to teach Satan’s version of this passage.
Now that you have read those passages, can you believe the gospel that has been preached for 150 years? God has made it abundantly clear that to attain to salvation, one must get to know God, learn to fear Him, repent, receive the Holy Spirit, then enjoy living in Christ where there is no sin and no darkness. You can see that there is a very real absence of righteousness or fear of God in the population of America, and it is obvious that Satan has control of the hearts and minds of the Democrat administration, most of the media, many large corporations, Hollywood, academia, and many others, causing them to do everything they can to destroy the country. He knows that God meant for this country to be a ‘city on a hill,’ displaying to the rest of the world how blessed and/or exalted a nation can be when much of its people live righteous lives.
Righteousness exalts a nation. Ps. 14:34
Satan assuredly does not want that to happen, as it did in the early eighteen-hundreds. At the moment he has zero opposition, and he is winning this spiritual battle for the heart and soul of America. A radiant bride, without stain, wrinkle or any other blemish, holy and blameless, [Eph. 5:27] shining the light of Christ into the darkness, dispelling that darkness, and exposing evil will send Satan’s scaly butt back to hell where it belongs.
I wrote a book in 2013 depicting the current state of America. I strongly encourage you to get a copy and read it with an open mind and a hungry heart, Amazon and B & N have ‘A Nation Broken.’ I am praying fervently for you to join me in this new life. It’s truly far above anything you could think or ever imagine.
